Choosing a cloud data platform

What each tool does well, what it costs, and who should pick it, including when the answer is not us. We are not trying to win at every lane. We are trying to win at getting you the answer.

All-in-one data platforms at a glance

All-in-one platforms bundle ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and BI so a team runs one product instead of six. The market is moving this way: in July 2026, AI notebook tool Fabi.ai announced it is joining the BI platform Omni. One thing to hold onto as you scan the rows: every platform below bundles the tools, and the work stays yours. OptimaFlo is the one where the team comes with it.

Now the honest math

Roughly a third of the tools we researched do not publish a price at all, and most of the rest meter you by rows, credits, or capacity, with the warehouse bill and the engineering work on top. OptimaFlo is $2,500 a month, flat, with the work included. For scale: the average US data engineer costs about $150K a year in total compensation, around $12,500 a month. Your AI data team costs a fifth of one hire, and it does not take vacations.

One thing our price does not include: your cloud bill. OptimaFlo runs in your own GCP or AWS account, so storage and compute are billed by your cloud provider at your rates, with your credits and discounts intact. We would rather say that here than surprise you in month one.
